The feel

Leith has its own history and its own strong sense of identity. The Shore, along the Water of Leith as it meets the docks, is lined with restaurants and bars, and Leith Walk has become one of the liveliest streets in the city.

Leith Links offers open space, and the Royal Yacht Britannia is moored at Ocean Terminal nearby.

The homes

Traditional tenement flats make up much of the housing, alongside converted warehouses and bonded stores around the Shore with high ceilings and exposed stone. Towards the waterfront there are modern apartment developments, some with views over the Firth of Forth.

Getting about

The tram runs the length of Leith Walk to Newhaven and into the city centre, and buses are frequent. It's also a comfortable walk or cycle to the New Town.

Who it suits

First-time buyers, people who want to be near restaurants and the water, and investors — Leith offers some of the best-connected homes in the city.
